Three generations of Spains
The Concord community is an important part of the Spain family heritage. The deed for the family homestead dates from 1863. That home, remodeled today as professional office spaces, is next door to the present J. H. Spain Associates headquarters.
Joe's grandfather was employed at the Swenson Granite Company, which up to the present has been an important supplier of building material for Concord's major commercial and government buildings. And most everyone knew Joe's father, a commercial sign painter in the prospering capitol city.
Of course, after 20 years of building in the greater Concord community, it's no longer just "Joe the painter or tile man". There are more than twenty employees at J. H. Spain Associates and they build more than fifty homes and commercial projects every year.
High energy, positive attitude
Reflecting on two decades of growth, Joe says, "The high energy and positive attitude that characterize our company is why we have grown and is why we thrive in today's competitive economy. Every day we are faced with the challenge of everything from residential construction to major commercial fit-ups. And every day the challenge is met with a buoyant "bring-it-on" response. Joe says, "We thrive on a challenge. Put us to the test!"
A New Home Customer Says...
We are writing this letter to express how pleased we are with J.H. Spain Associates, Inc. and the work they completed for us. We have recently completed the construction of a new home and have been very pleased with the process and the final product. Before we decided to build we were in the market to buy an existing home, and after several months of searching, we decided to look at the price of new construction. We always thought that building a new home was too costly and time consuming for a young family. This organization made the process easy and efficient as possible.
After our initial meeting with J.H. Spain, we were pleased to find that we could afford to build, and build what we wanted. We worked with Joe to add those extra items to our house, while maintaining the budget we had set for this project. We were amazed at how organized and thorough this organization was, and how reliable their staff was through the entire building process. From the time we broke ground, we were always well informed of what we needed to do to complete the project. We were pleased to have our project completed within the time promised to us.
After comparing this company and its finished work to other builders in the area, we found that J.H. Spain added finishing touches that other builders only consider extras. We have had the critical eye of some of our friends who are in the building business, and they have commented on the quality work that has been done with our new home.
Though the general construction of our house is complete, we still have contact with this organization to assist with small repairs and maintenance. This dedication proves that this organization believes in their work, and takes pride in what they do. People that we know who have had their houses built by other builders have not had the follow through that we are still receiving with our house. We never got the feeling that once we moved in that this home was no longer J.H. Spain's concern. We believe that we selected the best organization for the project. We would highly recommend this company for any project and in the future, we will be using them to complete any other projects we plan.
